Shiny Happy Nails :)

So, I bought one of those packs of fimo canes off Amazon, time ago, and I finally got round to playing with them.

Unfortunately, they didn't come with a blade but I just used a kitchen knife!
I've never cut any before, so they're a lil' on the thick side......

Anywhoooo here's what happened -

So easy! I used Barry M 296 Coral as the base colour.

Basically what happened was, I did my basecoats, then one coat of coral on every nail. Then, one nail at a time, I added a second coat of coral, and while it was still wet stuck on the fimo slices. I did two top coats to to make sure it's all covered and sealed in.

Not the most exciting nails, but they did cheer me right up :)

Hope you enjoy.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Swatch : Chanel - Paradoxal

Yet another bargain from Buyapowa!!

I've always wanted Paradoxal, so when it came up I was straight in there :)

Here come some pictures -

These first two pictures are taken in natural light -

These next few are taken with flash to showcase the beautiful purple shimmery undertone -

Paradoxal has a fabulous grey/purple creme base with the vivid purple shimmer running through it. The shimmer only really comes through when the light is on it, which I actually really like as it transforms the polish.

It's quite an unusual colour. There are similar dupes around, but I am a bit of a purist when it comes to Chanel, so (if I can afford it!!!!!!) I'll go for the real thing :)

I hope you enjoy and I'll see ya Friday.....

I bought a new pair of shoes!

Those of you who follow me on twitter, may have seen that I accidentally bought some new shoes from Asos on Saturday :)

So, here come some nails inspired by my purchase -

Colours I used here are 318 Peach Melba and 306 Blueberry Ice cream from Barry M and 12 Berlin by Mavala.

- Start with your base coats
- Next, two decent coats of the peach
- Then I painted the Mavala grey on the tips. I just used the brush from the bottle for this 'cos it's pretty teeny
- To finish the design, I used a small(ish) nail art brush to add the turquoise stripes
- Top coat to seal it all in.

And here are my fabulous shoes :) - SHOES!

I hope you like these, and I'll see ya next time!

Review and Swatches : Essie Spring 2012

So, it would appear I'm addicted to buying mini collections :)

Today I have Essie's Spring 2012 mini collection, another fab purchase from BeautyBay!! And, I've just seen that they have the Resort 2012 collection up.......oh dear!

Here come the pictures -

Colours from left to right - Navigate Her, Ole Caliente, Tour De Finance and To Buy or Not to Buy.

Navigate Her

Navigate Her - A pale green pistachio creme. Bang on trend. This colour is my out and out favourite of the collection! Two coats.

Ole Caliente

Ole Caliente - A scarlet creme with bright fushia undertones. Comes out slightly more red than it looks in the bottle, but still a beautiful colour non the less. Two coats.

Tour De Finance

Tour De Finance - Fushia pink pearl. So packed full of shimmer! I really like this colour. Nothing too out the ordinary, but surprisingly, my first shimmery pink :) Two coats.

To Buy Or Not To Buy

To Buy Or Not To Buy - A lilac creme, with really subtle blue and pink glitter. So subtle infact, you can barely see in the pictures! Two coats.

This set cost £11.95 with free delivery, which is great as the individuals are £8.50 each.

I really like the formula of the first three, nice solid streak-free colour after two coats. The lavender was a bit streaky, but I think with another coat, it would have been fine. I like the colours in this collection, I think they compliment each other well.

Generally, I've decided that I like Essie. Lots :)

Hope you like this post,

I'll see y'all Friday!

Magic Mushies!

Before we begin, I've squared off my nails. Sort of. I usually have them rounded, and I'm not sure if I like the change, so feedback is greatly appreciated!

Anyhoo....

*in a squeaky, high voice* MARIO!

This is another one of those looks that I keep meaning to try, and I finally got round to it!

I used all BarryM colours for these, but to be honest they're all standard colours, so you'll be able to find dupes easily.
I used - 66 Matt White, 47 Black, 134 Yellow, 262 Bright Red, 290 Spring Green , 291 Cobalt Blue and 303 Bright Purple.

- Start off with your basecoats
- Then two coats of white
- Next I added the coloured tops of the mushrooms
- Using the end of a nail art brush, I added the spots
- And, to finish the design, I used a small dotting tool to add the lil' eyes in black
- Top coat to end.

A nice bit of colourful fun to brighten up your Monday :)

Hope you enjoy,

See you next time!

Mucky Pup

I picked my doggy up from kennels on Wednesday, and when she saw me, she jumped up and got muddy paw prints all over me, which made me think of this nail design! I've seen it a few times so I thought I'd give it a try -

For these I used Dior 219 Safari Beige and e.l.f Smoky Brown.

- Start of with your basecoats
- Then three coats of the beige
- Next I used two different sized dotting tools to create the paw prints
- Top coat to finish

Nice and easy but a super cute effect :)

And for those of you who are dog people out there, here's my monkey! -

Bless her, she's nuts!

Also, apologies for the state of my nails! I promise to sort them out over the weekend :)

Hope you all enjoy, and have a fabulous weekend!
