Barry M sort of Halloween mani!

Hooray it's Wednesday! What a morning I've had...

Today I have some sort of Halloween nails to share today. I wanted to do a gradient, so I thought why not go a bit Halloween inspired! After applying the gradient, I thought of these WAH nails, so I added the black crackle top coat as well and I'm chuffed with the outcome :)

I started with Barry M #300 Acid Yellow. This is sadly discontinued however there are many colours like it out there. I then added #296 Coral and the Black Magic crackle top coat, both also by Barry M.

Barry M nail paints are £2.99 each and the Crackle top coat is £3.99 and you can check out their full range at Barrym.com.

I hope you're all having an awesome week!

Illamsqua Nail Art with Velocity and Melange

Happy Friday!

I've been wanting to wear Melange by Illamasqua again ever since I swatched it last month. Today I've paired it with Velocity to create today's mani.

I apologise for the mess on my index finger! I smudged it and tried to bodge it together, but it obviously failed dramatically!

To create this mani I started with two coats of Velocity, then added striping tape to crate the square shape. I then added Melange and removed the tape. Without the black lines of the tape, I felt like the look was missing something so I added in my Barry M black nail art pen to add the black outline.

I hope you enjoy this look! I think it would make a nice alternative for Halloween to :)

Check out Illamasqua.com for their full range.

Have the best weekend everyone!

Barry M Autumn Nail Art

I can't seem to post on time these days! This one's only a day late thogh, so I'm improving :)

Today I've had a play around with the new Barry M Autumn colours. I thought they'd be perfect for nail art as they are all purple toned so would work well together. The design is a simple one but effective I think. A classic!

You can check out swatches of all three colours HERE, and the whole Barry M nail paint range at Barrym.com.

I hope you're all having an awesome week so far!

China Glaze - Metro Pollen-Tin

Happy Saturday! I hope you're all having an awesome weekend so far :-)

Today I have a quick swatch of the last of the China Glaze polishes I bought a couple of weeks ago. This one is named Metro Pollen-Tin and was originally released as part of the Spring 2014 collection, City Flourish. It is a pastel-ish orange creme that dries to a semi-matte texture, however a top coat gives it that glossy look.

The swatches are two coats of colour with top coat -

I'm almost sure I don;t own any other colours like this one. Don't quote me on that though, I haven't checked my whole stash! China Glaze call this a 'honey' hue, however it reminds me of Mango Sorbet :-)

This polish cost me £4.17 and you can check out the China Glaze range at Beautybay.com.

I hope you like today's swatch post and you continue to have an awesome weekend!

New Barry M Colours for Autumn 2014!

I went to Boots last week, and spied three new colours from Barry M. I was only going to pick up one of them, Vintage Violet, but then if you spent £7 on Barry M you got their Showgirl mascara for free. So naturally I bought all three!

L-R 357 Ballerina, 358 Vintage Violet and 359 Nightshade

All swatches are two coats of colour with top coat.

357 Ballerina -

A light dusty pink creme. My least favourite of the three I think. The formula wasn't great and it didn't apply very smoothly. The colour is still nice but I probably wouldn't buy it again.

358 Vintage Violet -

This is the one I was going to buy originally! This colour reminds me of Parma Violets :-) yummy. I'm almost sure this one's my favourite. Much better formula than Ballerina and lovely for that Autumn transition.

359 Nightshade -

Nightshade is a deep, inky aubergine colour. Almost black but when you give it that second look it's definitely purple. A very interesting colour to me. Best formula of the three too.

All colours are £2.99.

I hope you enjoy my swatches! Checkout Barrym.com for their full range of nail paints.

Have a great week :-)

China Glaze - Fifth Avenue

You may have guessed I had a mini CG spree! I can't help myself when they're on BeautyBay for £4.17!

Fifth Avenue is a lovely dusky pink creme. The perfect shade to complement the 90's revival that's been going in in beauty recently.

Here I'm wearing two coats, however this is very nearly a one coater. I was super impressed with this polish, however it didn't wear very well :-( even with Seche Vite top coat.

You can check out the China Glaze range at Beautybay.com.

Sorry it's such a quick swatch post again! I'm hoping to be back into the swing of things in the next couple of weeks.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far :-)

China Glaze - Elephant Walk

I've not blogged for a whole week, yet it feels like forever! :-(

Today I have a super quick swatch post as I'm still trying to adjust to the change of working two jobs. The time I usually spent blogging is now taken up with work! However I am loving my new job, so there is a silver lining :-)

I placed an order at Beauty Bay on Sunday and it was delivered yesterday (!) so I had to get swatching. Today's colour is Elephant Walk by China Glaze, and I'm wearing two coats with top coat -

Originally released for Autumn 2012, this is a lovey cool, blue toned grey with a subtle shimmer to it, perfect for this time of year!

Check out China Glaze at Beautybay.com
